As a consequence, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXE, which was operating as QJE1771 from Mackay Airport to Brisbane, was diverted en-route to Rockhampton Airport to collect the affected passengers from the cancelled Dash-8 service and take them to Brisbane.

VH-NXE was on the ground a Rockhampton Airport for a short time.

Meanwhile, VH-LQF completed several engine-runs while still on the ground at Rocky before it positioned empty back to Brisbane around midday as QLK6670.  All seemed fine with the aircraft as it also operated a return flight to Moranbah Airport before later departing to Newcastle (Williamtown) Airport later in the day.
