RAAF C-17 Globemasters - A41-210 & A41-212 - Complete Airwork at Various CQ Airports on Friday - Plus a Mackay Flyover on Saturday

On Friday 3 June, a pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft were noted performing missed approaches at Rockhampton Airport before heading off and completing airwork at other CQ Airports.

During the morning, C-17 A41-210 flew North from RAAF Base Amberley as "Stallion 22" and completed a missed approach at Rocky.  It was then heard to fly North and complete a missed approach at Mackay Airport.  It then returned to Amberley.

A little later, fellow C-17 A41-212 also flew North from Amberley and completed a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport.  It then flew West and was heard completing airwork at Emerald Airport and then Taroom Airport before later returning to Amberley.

Finally, it's worth noting that a single RAAF C-17 Globemaster is planned to  conduct a flypast of Mackay Showgrounds at around 11.30am on Saturday 4 June (subject to change).

The flypast is in support of the Returned and Services League (RSL) 100th Anniversary celebrations on this weekend.  The C-17 is planned to conduct the flypast of the Mackay Showgrounds in an East to West direction at approximately 11:30am, flying at a height of approximately 100 meters and at a speed of around 290 km/h.

The C-17 will be configured for landing, which includes the aircraft wing slats and flaps extended and the landing gear down. This will provide an excellent opportunity to capture photos of the aircraft by those attending the event.
