Aerorescue (AMSA) Dornier 328-100 VH-PPV and Cap Rescue Bell 412 VH-EPR Complete Rescue off Rockhampton Early Monday

Early on Monday 20 June, the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) (Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia) Bell 412EP chopper VH-EPR "Rescue 300" along with the Cairns-based Aerorescue (AMSA - Australian Maritime Safety Authority) / Aero Pearl Dornier 328-100 VH-PPV "Rescue 441" were tasked to a vessel near Swains Reef to winch a 55 year old male on board who had become ill. Once overhead the CHRS crew performed a winch recovery of the patient and airlifted him to Rockhampton Base Hospital with severe abdominal pain.

Meanwhile, after 'shadowing' VH-EPR "Rescue 300", VH-PPV "Rescue 441" returned and landed at Rockhampton Airport for a short period of time to take on fuel before it returned to Cairns.

Finally, it's not too late to 'dig deep' and support the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) annual appeal.  The annual appeal is their largest fundraiser for the year and they are requiring more and more community support to keep this vital lifesaving service sustainable for the long term.
