Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue Agusta AW139 Helicopter VH-EZJ Flys North via Gladstone and Mackay Airports

The 'shuffle' of Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue helicopters seems to be underway as Agusta AW139 helicopter VH-EZJ was noted flying North to Cairns from Archerfiled via Gladstone and Mackay Airports on Saturday 11 June.

This comes a day after fellow QGAir AW139 helicopter VH-ESH ferried South from Cairns to Archerfield - also via Mackay and Gladstone Airports - as a part of a 'rotational system' designed to ensure the even distribution of flying hours on each of their helicopters, thus avoiding the need to have multiple helicopters offline for simultaneous scheduled maintenance.  See our Blog post below!

UPDATE!  It seems that VH-EZJ is already being put to work operating as "Rescue 510" out of Cairns Airport on med-evac duties!
