A Few Photos from the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) Community Open Day at Their Hangar at Rockhampton Airport

As we've been mentioning on our Facebook page, on Sunday 3 March, the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) threw the doors open at their hangar and facilities at Rockhampton Airport hosting a Community Open Day at the CHRS Hangar at Rockhampton Airport on Canoona Road.

Local plane spotter Trevor H has sent through some photos of the day which gave the public a fabulous opportunity to not only meet the wonderful staff but take a closer look at the locally-based CHRS (Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia) Bell 412EP helicopter VH-EPR, as well as supporting vehicles and facilities.

The other CHRS Bell 412EP VH-VAU was out on a mission, earlier departing Rockhampton Airport to the South as "Rescue 300".

Meanwhile, other displays included a pair of the locally-based Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) service tenders and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Rural Fire Service of Queensland vehicles.  The Queensland State Emergency Service (SES) also had a stall.

Finally, for the kids, there was also free face painting, cupcake decorating, helicopter balloon art, craft activities, amusement rides and a BBQ!

Sincere thanks to Trevor for taking the time capture and send through these great photos!
