Big Increase in Qantas Airways Flights into Mackay Airport - 3 per Weekday & Weekend Flights!

On Monday 17 August, it appears that Qantas has substantially boosted its capacity into Mackay with three daily return flights now operating between Brisbane and Mackay Airport each weekday.  The flights continue to be operated by their mainline Boeing B737-800 aircraft.

Current schedules also seem to suggest that there will also be a flight on each of Saturday and Sunday again with Boeing B737-800 jets.

This see an increase in the number of seats to more than 7,500 per week - an additional 2,000 seats compared to the airlines pre-COVID schedule.

QantasLink still looks to be operating an evening flight into Mackay Airport from and back to Brisbane with a Dash-8-Q400.  And Jetstar Airways still maintains its one daily flight into Mackay Airport also from and back to Brisbane with an Airbus A320 jet.

Qantas' decision to select Mackay for increased passenger capacity is a worthy reflection of the growing demand for flights, and the economic prosperity that exists within the Mackay region.
