We have noted on previous occasions that Corporate Air Cessna Conquest aircraft have operated flight safety check sorties at CQ Airports and it appears that VH-VEY may be completing the same type of flights again. VH-VEY was spotted (above) doing the same in April last year.
On Sunday, VH-VEY departed the Sunshine Coast and completed a checks at Kingaroy, Chinchilla and Roma Airports before landing there to refuel. It then returned to the Sunny Coast via checks at Taroom and Gayndah(?) Airports.
On Monday, VH-VEY then departed the Sunshine Coast and completed checks at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast), Maryborough and Bundaberg Airports before landing in the Rum City. It then continued up the coast, completing checks at Gladstone and Biloela / Thangool Airports before heading across to Rockhampton Airport for one final check and landing for the night.
UPDATE! On Tuesday 4 August, VH-VEY "NavCheck 1" departed Rockhampton Airport for checks at Middlemount and Emerald Airports. After landing at Emerald Airport, it then continued up to Clermont Aerodrome and Moranbah Airport before finishing the day at Mackay Airport.
UPDATE! On Wednesday 5 August, VH-VEY "NavCheck1" departed Mackay Airport for its Goulburn base in New South Wales.
