Emergency Rescue and Med-evac Aircraft and Helicopters at Mackay Airport

It's been interesting to note a couple of emergency rescue and medical retrieval aircraft and helicopters have been around Mackay Airport in recent days.

On Saturday 20 August, LifeFlight (ex Careflight Queensland) (Aeromed) LearJet 45 bizjet VH-VVI "Ambulance 451" flew from Brisbane to Cairns and on to Mackay Airport.  It then departed Mackay Airport returning to Brisbane.

The Townsville-based Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue Bell 412 VH-ESD "Rescue 521" has been noted at both Mackay and at Proserpine Hospitals over the course of the last couple of days.  It was noted departing Mackay Airport in the wee small hours of Saturday 20 August for Townsville before returning to Proserpine and Mackay Hospitals a little later in the day.  It was also noted visiting Proserpine Hospital in wee small hours of Friday 19 August.

Finally, Aerorescue (AMSA - Australian Maritime Safety Authority) / Aero Pearl Dornier 328-100 VH-PPJ "Rescue 471" was noted departing Mackay Airport for Brisbane on Thursday 18 August.  It appears to have departed Brisbane the previous day so it perhaps arrived into Mackay Airport and spent the night on Wednesday 17 August.
