Making a surprise but most welcome visit into Rockhampton Airport late on Friday 27 June was Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWT.
And what was interesting about its visit was that it appeared to be operating a flight for Virgin Australia as it was noted operating the afternoon VOZ1245/1248 service from and back to Brisbane - however it used a slight variation of the flight number - 'VOS1245/1248'.
This aircraft substitution could have been as a result of Virgin grounding nine of their Embraer E-190 aircraft on late Wednesday 25 June after the discovery of a fault with bolts that hold the plane’s engine in place. However, by Friday afternoon, they had all been given the all clear and returned to service.
Thanks to Rockhampton plane spotter 'IAD' for capturing these great photos!
