Two Re-painted Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800s - VH-VUM and VH-VUJ - Call into Mackay and Rockhampton Airports

Over a month after re-entering service in new colours, Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUM has finally visited Central Queensland, popping into Mackay Airport late on Tuesday 17 June operating the VOZ621 service from Brisbane.  After staying for the night, it departed Mackay early on Wednesday 18 June, returning to Brisbane as VOZ600.  VH-VUM then operated into Rockhampton as VOZ1235/1238.

And making it a double for repainted B737-800s, touching down at Mackay Airport on Wednesday 18 June was recently re-painted Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUJ.  It operated the late afternoon VOZ613/614 service from and back to Brisbane.

I managed to capture VH-VUJ in the 'Flying Colours' hangar at Townsville Airport last Saturday 14 June.  VH-VUJ re-entered service on Sunday 15 June.

It is believed that fellow B737-800 VH-VUN has now flown into Townsville for re-painting.  As shown in the photo below, VH-VUN is one of a handful of Virgin Blue / Virgin Australia aircraft to be painted in in a 'temporary' colour scheme with 'Airline of Virgin Blue' titles on the fuselage and 'Pacific Blue' titles on the tail.

Virgin Embraer E-190 VH-ZPJ is still overseas receiving maintenance and re-painting.
