Also Spotted at Rockhampton Airport in Recent Days

Amongst the various military and other movements in support of the Australian Army's Exercise Hamel and joint Military Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015, Rockhampton Airport is still playing host to some interesting and varied civilian commercial and light General Aviation (GA) movements over the last couple of weeks.

On Monday 13 July, a nice surprise arrival into Rocky during the early morning in the form Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-QQX which operated a scheduled service on behalf of Virgin Australia as VOZ1231/1234 from and back to Brisbane.

Also on Monday, Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Pilatus PC-12/45 VH-NQB ("FlyDoc 428") was noted arriving from Mount Isa.  Information suggests that it is still parked at Rocky - possibly in hte RFDS hangar.

Last Friday 10 July, Bowral (NSW) based Piper PA-46-500TP Malibu Meridian VH-WME was spotted calling in from the Gold Coast.  It later departed to Townsville.  VH-WME has since moved onto Hamilton Island on Monday 13 July.

Its also worth noting that over the last couple of weeks, the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK continues to call into various Central Queensland Airports - including Rockhampton - every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Finally, QantasLink Dash-8-Q400s in their special colours - VH-LQL, VH-LQM and VH-QOH - have continued to also call into various Central Queensland Airports including Rockhampton where I captured all three during my week in the beef capital.

Thanks to the Rockhampton plane spotters for taking the time to capture and send through their fantastic photos!
