Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-209 Missed Approach at Rockhampton Airport Friday

A couple of quiet days for military aircraft and helicopter action at Rockhampton Airport was broken a little on Friday 17 July as Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III A41-209 was noted performing a missed approach at Rockhampton Airport during the morning.

It appears that A41-209 flew North from RAAF Base Amberley and following the missed approach is Rocky, it flew West to Emerald and then South to Maryborough where it also performed airwork at both locations.  A41-209 then returned to Amberley.

The Globemaster was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Stallion 61".

Meanwhile RAAF Beech B350 Super King Air A32-372 touched down at Rockhampton Airport during the afternoon on Thursday 16 July from the South as "Hudson 38".

After overnighting, A32-372 departed to RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria again as "Hudson 38".
