Amid the Departures Two Australian Army Eurocopter (ARH) Tiger Helicopters Touch Down at Rockhampton Airport

Wednesday 22 July proved to be a great day for local plane spotters at Rockhampton Airport with a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-003 "Dragon 16" and Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail A30-006 "Wedgetail 33" both performing missed approaches during the day, and then the arrival of Australian Army Eurocopter (ARH) Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters A38-013 and A38-022 from the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).

Local plane spotter Kayanne H ventured to Rockhampton Airport after a big day of watching a school sport carnival and captured a couple of great photos of A38-013 - which had earlier arrived as "Marlin 21" - and then A38-022 as it arrived as "Marlin 11".

Word around Rockhampton Airport is that both Tigers were staying for the night with each expected to depart in different directions over the course of Thursday 23 July.

There was also an unconfirmed report that these two Tigers have had maintenance issues while in Shoalwater Bay participating in the recently completed Australian Army Exercise Hamel and joint Military Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015.

Thanks Kayanne!
