Exercise Wallaby 2015 - Four RSAF Super Puma Helicopters Depart Home to Oakey - Plus Antonov AN-124 to Visit This Week too!

With the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2015 over for another year, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) helicopters that have been resident at Rockhampton Airport for the past couple of months are being prepared for departure back to Singapore.

Of the RSAF helicopters, four of six Aerospatiale / Eurocopter AS332M Super Puma helicopters were captured departing back to Oakey on Tuesday 24 November.

Meanwhile, the two RSAF Boeing CH-47SD Chinook and and five Boeing AH-64D Apache helicopters have been noted parked back at Rockhampton Airport with rotor-blades removed and engine covers applied ready for uplift back to Singapore.

Information suggests that there is a good chance Volga-Dnepr Antonov An-124-100 RA-82047 - which is currently parked at Cairns - will touch down at Rockhampton Airport early on Thursday 26 November to start taking the Chinook and Apache helicopters 'home'. It is expected that the Antonov will make two trips to Rocky, returning again early on Saturday 28 November.
