US Marines Lockheed KC-130J Hercules 167926 "Sumo 96" at Williamson Airfield within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA)

On Friday 5 July, United States Marine Corps (USMC) Lockheed KC-130J Hercules 167926 (Tail Code QD-7926) of the Marine Aerial Refueller Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152) was noted departing Williamson Airfield within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) bound for RAAF Base Amberley.  It was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Sumo 96".

It appears the Herc may have earlier departed Townsville where another USMC KC-130J Hercules 169532 (Tail Code QD-9532) as "Sumo 97" is also currently based in the lead up to the Joint Military Exercise Talisman Sabre 2019 (TS19).
