A Few Nice Late Afternoon US Army Blackhawk and US Navy Seahawk Helicopter Arrivals and Departures Photos at Rockhampton Airport

During the late afternoon on Thursday 11 July, local plane spotter 'IAD' was on hand at Rockhampton Airport and captured some great photos of yet more US Army UH-60 Blackhawk and US Navy Sikorsky MH-60S Seahawk (Knighthawk) helicopter arrivals and departures.

He captured some great photos as the two visiting United States Navy (USN) Sikorsky MH-60S Seahawk (Knighthawk) helicopters - 167833 / NF-611 and 167871 / NF-621 of the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12 (HSC-12) "Golden Falcons" - arrived into and then departed Rockhampton Airport once again heading to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) using their familiar callsign of "Hunter 71 Flight".

These Knighthawk helicopters are completed 2-3 flights per day between Rockhampton Airport and the Bay.

Also photographed arriving into Rockhampton Airport from the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) was US Army Sikorsky UH-60M Blackhawk helicopter (13-)20592 as "Bigfoot 92".

It later returned to Shoalwater Bay.

As mentioned previously, the Blackhawks are of the 2nd Battalion 158th Aviation Regiment 'Warhawks'.

Also on Thursday 11 July, United States Army (US Army) (US Army Reserve Command) Beech C-12V Huron (Beech B200 King Air) aircraft 94-00320 as "Pat 320" popped into Rockhampton Airport yet again.  It arrived from and later departed back to Townsville.

It appears these Huron aircraft might be quite busy over the Exercise, with it appearing that they will be regular flyers between Brisbane, Rockhampton and Townsville - where they appear to be based during Exercise Talisman Sabre 2019 (TS19).

And finally, also on Thursday 11 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Search and Rescue (SAR) Bell 412EP helicopter VH-VAB "Rescue 82" looked to complete a medical evacuation from Shoalwater Bay.  It landed at Rockhampton Base Hospital before flying across to Rockhampton Airport where it was refuelled prior to returning to Camp Growl within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).

Sincere thanks to 'IAD' for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
