USMC Lockheed KC-130J Hercules 166763 "Sumo 95" Spotted at Rockhampton Airport - Plus RAAF Herc Back at Williamson Airfield as "Trojan 02"

Very late on Wednesday 3 July, United States Marine Corps (USMC) Lockheed KC-130J Hercules 166763 (Tail Code QD-6763) of the Marine Aerial Refueller Transport Squadron 152 (VMGR-152) was noted departing RAAF Base Amberley and flying North for operations within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).  It was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Sumo 91".


It then landed at Rockhampton Airport and was photographed (above) resting on the Northern Military Hardstand early on Thursday 4 July.


Later in the day, 166763 "Sumo 95" was noted departing Rockhampton Airport for Townsville.

Meanwhile, also on Thursday 4 July, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules transport aircraft A97-465 was noted once again visiting Williamson Airfield within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).  It looked to arrive from and later depart back to RAAF Base Richmond but this time as "Trojan 02".
