A Pair of United States Navy (USN) Sikorsky MH-60S Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12 (HSC-12) 'Golden Falcons' Spotted at Emerald and Biloela / Thangool Airports

On Saturday 15 July, a couple of interesting helicopters were spotted in some remote parts of Central Queensland.  It is unclear what their intentions or travel directions were or if they are even participating in joint Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2017 (TS17) - although one would assume that they are!

They were identified as a pair of United States Navy (USN) Sikorsky MH-60S Seahawk (Knighthawk) helicopters which are flown by the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12 (HSC-12) "Golden Falcons" which are presently deployed and assigned with CVW-5 on board USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).

The two Knighthawks were firstly spotted parked at Emerald Airport during the latter part of the morning and then later at Biloela / Thangool Airport.  They look to be 167839 / NF-614 and 167871 / NF-621.

It is believed that they were flying together using the radio callsign of "Hunter 71".
