Ex Talisman Saber 2017 Comes to Maryborough Airport as 5 Australian Army Blackhawks and 1 US Navy Seahawk Helicopter Call in for Fuel

Joint Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2017 (TS17) came to Maryborough Airport during the afternoon on Saturday 15 July with five Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk helicopters, along with a sole United States Navy (USN) Sikorsky HH-60H Seahawk helicopter, all calling in to take on fuel as a part of a sortie that saw them earlier depart from Rockhampton Airport.

The five Australian Army Blackhawk helicopters were identified as A25-225, A25-218. A25-110. A25-112 and A25-203 with the US Navy Seahawk identified as 163784 / NW-300.  They were heard to all be flying under the formation callsign of "Spartan" and looked to fly North back to Rockhampton Airport.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Rowena B for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos from an unexpected arrival into Maryborough!
