The reported unserviceability of one or more of Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) ATR 72 aircraft has seen an increase on Virgin Australia jet traffic into Gladstone Airport over the last few days - see our Blog posts below. And on Tuesday 15 September, the trend continued in spectacular fashion as a pair of Virgin Australia Embraer E-190s and a Boeing B737-800 touched down at Gladstone Airport operating scheduled service from and back to Brisbane.

First to call in was E-190 VH-ZPN which operated the early VOZ1707/1710 service before fellow E-190 VH-ZPL called in during the morning as VOZ1709/1712.
As the afternoon went on, Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VUS was noted touching down as VOZ1713 from Brisbane. It later returned to the capital as VOZ1716.
Finally, its worth noting that a couple of nice - but familiar - Super King Air aircraft were again noted visiting Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 15 September with Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-WXC and Beech B300LW Super King Air VH-WCN of Avcair (Sutherland Aviation) noted departing for the South.
An awesome day of jet action at Gladstone Airport - and currently indications (at the time of writing) suggest that another two E-190s are due to touch down on Wednesday 16 September!
