Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 Jets at Rockhampton and Emerald Airports Thursday

Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 jets were kept busy late on Thursday 29 October with one landing at Rockhampton Airport operating a scheduled service for QantasLink, before it then flew into Emerald Airport, joining another on the ground on FIFO duties.

As shown above and below, F-70 VH-JFB called into Rocky operating as UTY2360/2361 from and back to Brisbane, believed to be on behalf of QantasLink.  Local plane spotter Leo C captured VH-JFB parked at gate and then departing back to Brisbane - showing off its recently applied sticker promoting the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).

BCNA works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs.  It is the peak national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer, and consists of a network of more than 100,000 members and 300 Member Groups. More than 90 per cent of theur members have had a diagnosis of breast cancer, and the remaining members have had a personal experience with breast cancer through a family member or friend.

They are represented by the 'Pink Lady' silhouette, symbolic of their focus on the women diagnosed with breast cancer and all those around her. See more at: https://www.bcna.org.au/ .

Also captured operating into Rockhampton Airport last week by Leo C was QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOH which also wears Breast Cancer awareness titles and colours - the distinctive pink livery of The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

The NBCF is the leading community-funded organisation in Australia raising money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer and it would appear that VH-QOH has possibly had its livery re-applied.  The NBCF website can be found at:  http://www.nbcf.org.au/ .

Back to the Alliance Fokker F-70s, later on Thursday 29 October, VH-JFB then operated to Emerald Airport and back as UTY2632/2633 again possibly on behalf of QantasLink.

It joined fellow Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-QQY which operated into Emerald Airport also on Thursday operating one of the six Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) flights from and back to Brisbane into Emerald.

Thanks to Leo C for allowing us to share his great photos from Rocky this week!
