VARA (Skywest Airlines) Fokker 50 VH-FNF Back at Emerald Airport on FIFO - Plus a Wirraway and a Few Other Movements!

Well it looks like that Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) (Skywest Airlines) Fokker 50 VH-FNF has started operating Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights into Emerald Airport on Tuesday nights and again on Wednesday mornings.

After operating into Emerald last week, VH-FNF again called in this week, touching down from Brisbane late on Tuesday 13 October and then again mid-morning on Wednesday 14 October.

Meanwhile, another notable aircraft noted calling into Emerald Airport on Wednesday 14 October was Bennet Aviation Commonwealth Aircraft Corp CA-3 Wirraway Mk II Warbird VH-WWY (A20-176).

VH-WWY was finally heading 'home' to Maitland in New South Wales (NSW) from the Airlie Beach Airshow at Shute Harbour Airport.  I believe it called in directly from Shute Harbour and continued from Emerald to Roma and Moree.

Finally, a pair of Brisbane-based aircraft - Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-VTF and Piper PA-31 Navajo VH-NAD - were both noted calling into Emerald Airport on Wednesday 14 October from Roma and Cungelella Airstrip at Carnarvon Gorge.  Both aircraft looked to be heading to Mackay on Thursday 15 October.
