On Tuesday 9 June, Cirrus Aircraft (Cirrus Design Corp.) flew the brand new Cirrus Generation 5 SR22T Special Edition: Australis N9ZN from Mackay to Whitsunday Airport (WAVE) at Shute Harbour where it was put on display.
The sleek little Cirrus has been quite busy in recent days with N9ZN on display at Toowoomba, Rockhampton and Mackay over the Queen's Birthday long weekend.
Meanwhile, a couple of other local and visiting aircraft were noted flying around Mackay and Whitsundays over the long weekend including Mackay-based Cessna 210 VH-EIC which flew from its Palmyra base to Hamilton Island and back on Monday 8 June. West Australia-based SOCATA TBM-850 (700N) VH-TBM returned to Hamo on Monday 8 June from Lizard Island after departing to there on Saturday 6 June. It originally landed at Hamilton Island in late May.
Also over the weekend, Port Macquarie-based Piper PA-28-161 was noted flying from South Grafton in New South Wales to the Gold Coast and Archerfield before continuing to Rockhampton and Hamilton Island.
Nautilus Aviation Bell 407 VH-VHU was also due to visit Mackay on Monday 8 June from Rockhampton.
And finally, Shortstop Jet Charter British Aerospace BAe-125-1000B bizjet VH-LMP departed Hamilton Island for its Melbourne (Essendon) base on Sunday 7 June.
