Local plane spotters Jamie and Tash were on hand on Tuesday 2 June as Whitsunday Helicopters Agusta A109E VH-TRW called into Gladstone Airport for a quick visit from its Mackay Airport base.
As VH-TRW departed back to Mackay, they also captured a lovely photo of the locally-based Careflight Bell 412EP VH-XCY sitting on the General Aviation (GA) Apron in the late afternoon sun.
Meanwhile, as we've mentioned in various Blog posts below, Geotech Airborne (Aviation Utilities) Agusta Westland AW119 MK2 helicopter VH-VTQ was captured by Jamie and Tash arriving into Gladstone from parts unknown on Friday 15 May.
VH-VTQ has since been spotted flying over Rockhampton towing a massive airborne electromagnetic receiver coil. It has also been spotted operating out of the Old Station Farm at Raglan. Last Wednesday 27 May, VH-VTQ was spotted returning to Gladstone following another busy day of flying.
Then on Friday 29 May, VH-VTQ again departed with the massive coil in tow.
Finally, Jamie and Tash were also on hand at Gladstone Airport on Friday 22 May as the Bundaberg-based Careflight Agusta A109E Power VH-ZCF - "Rescue 522" - was spotted undertaking some airwork before it returned to Bundaberg where it was tasked on a rescue flight..
Some great photos of some great helicopter action at Gladstone Airport. We sincerely thank Jamie and Tash for sending these through!
